Nivora Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 29, 2026
Overview
Nivora is a Mac menu bar utility for software light and warmth adjustments and conditional external-display hardware controls. It works locally, without an account or a developer-operated service.
Display controls
Nivora reads available display color tables so it can apply an adjusted table and later restore the original on one display or all available displays. If another app has since changed a color table, Nivora preserves that newer change. Software color restoration does not reset monitor hardware settings. For external hardware controls, Nivora checks display vendor, model, serial, and available DDC/CI buses, then reads brightness, contrast, and volume capability values. It writes a hardware value only when you move an available hardware slider and verifies the result. All display data stays on your Mac and is not sent to us.
Settings stored on your Mac
Nivora stores the Light and Warmth levels you choose for each of its four scenes; whether the daily schedule, global scene shortcuts, and global Light shortcuts are enabled; the Light shortcut target; your last chosen scene; and your chosen morning and evening times in macOS UserDefaults. These preferences remain in the app’s local container. Original display color tables are kept in memory while Nivora runs so they can be restored. Login startup is managed by macOS Login Items when you enable it.
Data collection and network use
Nivora does not collect personal information, use analytics or advertising SDKs, track you, or connect to a developer-operated server. The app itself does not need an internet connection. Apple handles App Store purchases, downloads, and updates under Apple’s own policies.
Privacy manifest
Nivora declares UserDefaults access for app settings in its Apple privacy manifest. The manifest declares no tracking and no collected data types.
